New year
means new school for the children, parents, and staff of Kennedy Elementary.  The new school is located on 400 Victoria Drive.  Many of the children and parents remember this location as the old Allen Elementary location.  For many parents and staff saying goodbye to the 306 Crosstimbers location was bittersweet.  Many of the parents remember the days when they attended Kennedy, and many staff members not only attended Kennedy, but also have been at Kennedy their entire professional career.  The new school opened its doors to our community on January 30, 2012.

Teachers Can Never Stop Learning
This year Houston ISD teachers were introduced to a new appraisal system.  This new system is to evaluate teachers and help them grow as educators.  The goal of this new initiative is to have effective teaching and rigorous learning in every classroom.  Kennedy Teachers met on November 9th and focused on differentiating instruction.  Teachers collaborated ideas and shared strategies on effective teaching. Kennedy teachers know it's important to continue to grow as educators and adapt their teaching to cater to a diverse group of learners.  Principal Daryl Sherman said, " In order to improve our practice we have to study the new rubric and really make it part of our daily routine."
